Justin Lane
Pitching Trainer/Coach
Justin, a right-handed pitcher, graduated from Plainfield East High School in 2021. He was an integral part of the school’s historic first state championship team, which made IHSA history as the lowest seed to ever win the title. Justin continued his baseball journey at the College of DuPage (2021-2023), where he excelled on the mound. As a freshman, he posted a 5-1 record and led the team with 51.1 innings pitched. Building on his impressive debut, Justin’s sophomore year featured three complete games, including one shutout over 44.1 innings.
Despite starting his collegiate career without a scholarship, Justin’s hard work paid off when he earned a scholarship to play at St. Ambrose University (2023-2025), a top-ranked NAIA team in Davenport, Iowa. He is pursuing a degree in Human Performance, with aspirations of building a career in the baseball industry.
Justin’s main responsibilities with Canes Illinois include developing pitchers both physically and mentally. His diverse experience under various coaches provides him with a broad understanding of the game, both as a player and a coach. With years of training under Mark Sheehan, Justin brings a wealth of knowledge and a unique perspective to his coaching. His primary goal is to help shape young players into skilled, humble men who carry their lessons from baseball into all aspects of life.
