Welcome to the Canes Illinois Character Corner, curated by Coach Tom Nelson. One key pillar to our Canes Illinois mission is Character Building:

Character Building: Beyond the sport itself, we aim to instill important values such as integrity, sportsmanship, teamwork, and perseverance. Our program emphasizes the importance of becoming not just skilled athletes but also responsible and respectful individuals.

A lot of the character building takes place in the gym and on the diamond, but it doesn’t stop there. Below are a series of titles which include hyperlinks to some of Coach Tom’s favorite podcasts & books. He often shares many of these players directly, but wanted to compile everything in one place for our parents & players to access. Each title is a hyperlink to a page where you can listen, order, etc.
