Zach brings eight years of coaching experience and holds a degree in Counseling Psychology from National Louis University. Throughout his career, Zach has coached with the Bulls Sox Academy and White Sox Elite, where he developed extensive one-on-one instruction skills. This hands-on approach has enabled him to connect with players of varying skill levels, fostering their growth on and off the field.
Zach’s background in counseling psychology goes beyond traditional coaching, emphasizing the mental side of baseball—a crucial aspect of a sport often defined by its challenges and setbacks. He integrates his expertise to optimize athletes’ mental resilience, helping them develop new interpersonal skills and better manage the pressures of the game.
Zach is also deeply committed to establishing the “Canes Way” culture within the organization, emphasizing personal accountability, self-awareness, team pride, open communication, player empowerment, and mental health. His relentless focus on these core values drives the development of well-rounded athletes who thrive both on and off the field.
As a leader in player development, Zach is at the forefront of integrating advanced technologies such as Win Virtual Reality, Blast Motion, and Trackman into the Canes’ training programs.
