Kevin Davis
Director of Pitching
Coach Kevin Davis joined Canes Illinois through his connection with our founder, Coach Mark Sheehan. Before becoming a pitching instructor, Kevin worked closely with Mark for several years, refining his mechanics and delivery. Kevin’s towering presence (standing at 6’9″) and his larger-than-life personality made him an instant favorite among players at all levels of the Canes Illinois program. His unique ability to connect with athletes from 12U to 18U allows him to effectively teach and guide pitchers in adjusting and improving their performance on the mound.
Kevin graduated from Lockport High School and his playing career is marked by impressive achievements: he was a two-year starter at NJCAA Division I Olney Central College, a three-year closer at NCAA Division I University of South Carolina Upstate and gained two years of independent professional experience in the Frontier League. Additionally, this past season Kevin was a relief pitcher with the Bravos de León in León, Guanajuato, Mexico, where his standout performances earned him an invitation to the 2024 Bravo Fest.
Beyond his playing career, Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a minor in Physical Therapy and has valuable experience as a Strength and Conditioning coach. He combines his extensive playing experience, knowledge from working with Mark Sheehan, and his background in physical therapy and strength training to develop a hands-on, personalized approach to pitching instruction.
Kevin’s commitment to fostering growth in each athlete ensures that Canes Illinois pitchers receive not just coaching but mentorship tailored to their individual needs, helping them excel on the mound.
